What turn around can I expect from DC?

Normal work is in the DC DMV from 2 to 3 weeks.  We handle interstate title work on an expedited basis.  Tag Man returns work in 5 days or less     

Note: Turn around times do not include transit time between you and Tag Man. Tag Man processes work for submission to DMV the same day it is received.  Work returned from DMV  is sent to you the same day.

What forms of payment does Tag Man accept for DC work?

  • Checks or money orders from either the purchaser, the dealer, or the titling service are accepted.

Who do I pay for DC DMV Work?

  • Checks for DC DMV fees can be made payable to either DC TREASURER  or TAG  MAN.
  • Checks for Tag Man service fees must be made payable to TAG MAN.

What if I miscalculate DC DMV fees?

  • If your check in payment to DC DMV for DMV fees is not exact, DMV will not process the work. 
  • If your payment is short, you can then send the required additional fees.  You can request Tag Man to advance a reasonable amount to expedite the work.
  • If your payment is over, you can then send a check for the correct amount.  You can request Tag Man to replace your check with a Tag Man Check.

How do I know the actual amount paid to DC DMV for fees?

  • Tag Man always sends the official, original DC DMV receipt along with the completed work returned to you.

How is completed work returned to me?

  •  New titles are mailed directly to new owners by DC DMV if there is no lien.
  •  New titles are mailed directly  to the lien holder by DC DMV if there is a lien.
  •  New tags and registration are picked up and forwarded to you by Tag Man.
  •  Duplicate or repo titles are mailed by DMV. 
  •  Tag man returns completed work to you by the method you choose.  Postage/overnight fees for returned work from us are your responsibility.

What are the most common reasons DC work is rejected by DMV?

  • Incorrect Fees
  • Expired or missing DC driver's license or DC ID
  • Purchaser information on application does not match DC driver's license , DC ID, Occupancy 
    Certificate 
  • Outstanding parking tickets
  • No proof of insurance on vehicle to be registered
  • Delinquent taxes
